In our May 2014 newsletter, we asked about your documentation material preferences. Four questions gave us an idea of the usefulness of digital manuals compared to printed, resulting in a coming change for Cirris manuals.
The survey results are as follows:
How often does your company reference PRINTED manuals for your Cirris products?
|Less than Monthly||27|
|Close to Never||24|
|I have no idea if I even have a manual||2|
Over 82% chose less than monthly
How often does your company reference DIGITAL manuals for your Cirris products?
|Less than Monthly||21|
|Close to Never||20|
|I have no idea if I even have a manual||4|
Over 70% chose less than monthly
What form of documentation would you prefer for a product user manual?
70% prefer searchable PDF
If when purchasing a new product you were given a searchable PDF version of the user's manual but a printed version were available on request, would you request it?
51.5% would request a printed manual
With a desire become more eco-friendly, Current printed manuals will be replaced by digital manuals for Cirris equipment. Cirris will be implementing a new policy that printed manuals must be requested. While printed manuals will still be free, they will not be sent out automatically and customers will need to ask for one from their Cirris representative. We believe this change will benefit both our customers and the environment.
